Greensboro Garden April 2011

Going to miss this place! Have learned some great lessons and we are ready to take it to the next level. Will do more square foot gardening and less fruit trees, too labor intensive for the return you get. Have a rotation plan in mind for chickens and goats. Eric and I are going to start a meat goat operation in Tennessee. Will start small and see how it goes. Wanted to log these pictures as a reminder of what we had here.

Grape crop should be excellent again. Might not be able to enjoy them this year.

Apple tree loaded with fruit.

Strawberries that my friend Bill gave me last year. Bumper crop.
Argos kept the rabbits and deer out of them.

Grapes

Looks like a bumper crop this year. Only had to water once so far this year as the heavens have provided the rest.

Tomatoes to the Roof

Tomatoes plants are up to the ceiling of the hoop house, so it would seem they love this environment. Lots of blossoms and set fruit on all six plants. Plants look very healthy.

Hoop House

The hoop house has proved to be a good investment. I was questioning my choice of covering but so far I think it was good one.
Broccoli is doing great we have started harvesting it last week. Terry made a great stir fry with it tonight. Tomatoes in the center are starting to bloom. Set out the pumpkin plant last week. Not sure what's going in after the broccoli is done.

Hoop House

Hoop House is almost done. Covered the house with Sun Master 6 MIL 4Year 65% White Greenhouse Film from Farmtex.

Set out broccoli that was started from seed 2 weeks and 1 week ago. Carrot seed planted this past weekend. So far the broccoli is growing well. Humidity is high in the house. The roof of the hoop house is covered with nat like insects. Not very concerned about this for now.
